Tapir surprised tourists in Corcovado

A group of tourists saw the country’s largest land mammal in its own habitat. The tapir walked in front of them in a beach from Corcovado National Park.

The surprised tourists did not miss the opportunity to photograph and record it. The video was uploaded to the site Corcovado Guide CR.

This mammal weighs between 180 and 300 kilos and it’s rarely seen during the day. The tapir is an endangered species due to the disappearance of its habitat.

These animals feed on vegetation, fruits and seeds and can be found in mountainous areas of Mexico, Central America and South America.
