Taxi drivers created an app to fight Uber back

Tired of returning home with less money in their pocket after working all day, a group of taxi drivers decided to fight back: they created an application that aims to recover all clients that Uber stole from them.

“Taxis de Costa Rica” app allows users to know in advance the price of the travel, the plate of the vehicle and the driver’s identity.

Users will pay what the app says, although it will use the taximeter as a backup. Taxi drivers will not know the user’s destination to avoid selecting the travels that benefit them the most,

informed Alexis Retana, Taxis de Costa Rica Spokesperson.

The application will start operating on January 15th. The company promises pleasant surprises for the first users. The application is available for iOs and Android users. The download is free for users, but it has a monthly cost of 15,000 colones for taxi drivers.
