Taxi drivers and the president will discuss Uber

June 1, 2016 by Staff News Writer

President  Luis Guillermo Solís will meet with licensed taxi drivers to listen their complaints against transportation services apps like Uber, which according to taxis unions promote working informally.

According to Gilberth Ureña, spokesman of a taxi drivers association, said the meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 7 at the presidential palace.

Ureña said they expect the President will direct enforcement of regulatory laws. They also will demand action to block the availability in the country of transportation services apps.
