American Expatriate Costa Rica

The CCSS wants your healthy recipes!

If you have a delicious and healthy cooking recipe, this is your chance to share it with all Costa Ricans, as if you were a professional chef!

As part of the campaign announced by the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS), in order to promote healthy lifestyles and thus address the growth of chronic diseases, Costa Ricans are being invited to share their recipes.

“Mi receta rica y salusable” is the name of the contest that will give a professional recording of the recipe as a reward (the winner will be visited at home by a recording team), the publication of the dish on CCSS social networks, and Inclusion in the healthy recipe book they prepare for the whole country.

How to participate?

The contest is open for seniors. Participants will upload their recipe to CCSS Facebook page (only one can apply).

The jury, composed of Nutrition Professionals of the CCSS, will receive the recipes and analyze them to determine which one meets the conditions of nutritional and healthy value.

Two winners will be selected. Please note that the contest will be held from April 17th to May 5th 2017.

Maria del Rocío Sáenz, Executive President of the CCSS, commented on Tuesday that the idea is to involve people to learn, but also to motivate them to adopt healthy lifestyles.

Low consumption of fruits and vegetables implies a risk factor that exposes people from very early ages to chronic conditions such as strokes, stomach, colon and rectum cancer, as well as diabetes.
