The Judiciary ordered the creation of a website to check for impediments to leave the country

After multiple complaints and uncomfortable episodes experienced by thousands of Costa Ricans with the System of Alimony Payments (SOAP), the Superior Council of the Judiciary Power ordered a series of actions to avoid further inconveniences to travel abroad.

The Judicial directorate of Information and Technology of the Judiciary has 3 months to implement a platform where citizens can check if they have any impediment to leave the country.

The platform would be a web site linked to the mobile application of the Judicial Power, where people can use their ID number to check whether they have any prohibition order to travel abroad.

In addition, SOAP was asked to strengthen its internal control for the registration process, the updating and the approval of information.
