This is the first bus-shower that will benefit more than 300 homeless people in San José

On Saturday, the project “Chepe se baña” officially inaugurated the first shower bus that will be available for people living in extreme poverty in the capital.

This is the seventh edition of the initiative in La Merced Park in San José. It is expected that between 300 and 400 people from the street receive haircuts, medical attention from the San Juan de Dios Hospital, food and the approach to rehabilitation programs.

The bus will have a capacity of bathing 100 to 120 people per day. This project will give dignity, hope, and opportunity for change to homeless people,”

said Mauricio Villalobos, organizer of the initiative.

Villalobos thanked the people and companies that joined the project and made it possible for the program to become a reality.
