Tica wins international award with project to prevent papilloma

Costa Rican Fernanda Sánchez received an international award at the world forum of young leaders, called The Youth Assembly, which was held in Washington DC, United States.

She achieved recognition in the Impact Challenge category with the project, “Papilloma Care”. This initiative aims to help thousands of Costa Rican youth to prevent Human Papillomavirus.

In social networks, Sanchez thanked her family and friends for the support in the project she described as one of life’s most important challenges.

Being a winner only explains why we are on national red alert. This is dedicated to each Costa Rican woman, to each woman from Palma and to every dreaming girl. The human papillomavirus cannot do more than its own. Because when a woman gets empowered, everyone gets empowered,”

said Sánchez.

For the 2019 edition, Costa Rican delegates Luis Diego Ramírez, Sheila Vigot, Ana Lucía Orozco and Jimena Zamora also participated, as well as Ambassador Daniela Coll.
