Tilarán’s new Pain Clinic and Palliative Care center

After 10 years of its creation, Tilarán’s Pain Clinic and Palliative Care has its own building.

It was possible thanks to Junta de Protección Social’s contribution of almost 250 million colones as well as its own funds of about 50 million colones. As a result, the institution will better help people with great discomfort and it will also provide emotional and spiritual support to cope with the diseases.

“Right now there are about 430 patients in Tilarán’s system. With this building we can offer them better care,” said Telma Murillo, one of the founders of this project.

The new clinic has 2 floors; on the first one there are reception area, pharmacy, management, 2 doctors’ offices, nursing, health services with shower and others. On the second floor there are areas for social work, psychology and physical therapy, among others.
