Where are the President’s plates?

A tradition in most countries in the world is to put plates with the name of the President among other information when they inaugurate schools, bridges etc. However, Luis Guillermo Solís, President of Costa Rica, has his reasons not to do so.

I don’t want my name to be remembered, so I do not put the plates, because the money for the works doesn’t come from my pocket,

said the President during several of his speeches in Talamanca’s indigenous areas.

The facilities, he said, are built with the money paid by Costa Ricans through taxes.
