A hawker pretended to sell papayas, but he really provided drugs

A seller pretended to sell papayas, when it actually used that as a front to provide drug.

Thanks to an operation conducted over the weekend by the Municipal Police of San José, the trap was discovered.

According to the police force, about 2,000 hawkers are operating in the main streets of San José.

An important amount are foreigners. In some cases they are under irregular migratory condition.

The 4 main areas where this informal activity takes place are 4 kilometers from the boulevards of downtown San José, near the markets, hospitals and surrounding areas near Mexico Hospital in La Uruca.
