Taxi drivers distributed drugs in Alajuela and Turrúcares

November 17, 2016 by Staff News Writer

In 15 raids conducted by the Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ), an organization dedicated to drug dealing in Alajuela and Turrúcares was dismantled.

The operations have as results 15 arrested people. They are informal, taxi drivers who took advantage of their work to distribute the drug, mostly crack and cocaine, to customers.

Turrúcares is a rural area where many people devote themselves to work and this greatly affects the community because the drug distribution took place on streets and public areas,

declared Luis Ávila, deputy director of the OIJ.

Detainees are identified by the judicial police as responsible for distributing the drug on demand.
