Consequences of the taxi drivers’ strike

78 people under arrest and suspension of concessions have been the consequences of the taxi drivers’ strike.

Nails, ski masks and other artifacts were seized by police during the taxi drivers’ public demonstrations on Tuesday.

Gustavo Mata, Minister of Public Security, confirmed that the Ministry will not tone down their actions.
There are about 78 taxi drivers arrested, 57 traffic tickets issued and about 8 retained vehicles.

Regarding the officer who lost some of his teeth, Mata explained that many clinics offered to provide selflessly collaboration. At the moment he remains hospitalized.

Meanwhile, Carlos Villalta, minister of transport stated that the Ministry will not negotiate with taxi drivers while they keep protesting in this way and he added that they are studying each case in order to determine the suspension of taxi drivers’ concessions.

in regard Uber, the official said that they are awaiting the ruling from the Constitutional Court. At the moment, they will continue to impose fines for providing illegal transport services.
