Aircrafts and patrol boats to fight drug trafficking

Costa Rican authorities think that fight against drug trafficking will be more efficient due to the donation of two 110-foot patrol boats, two patrol aircrafts and armored patrols, among other things.

María Fulmen Salazar, Minister of Security, and Juan José Andrade, Vice Minister and Director of the Public Force expressed their satisfaction for the donation. In addition, Border Police, Air Surveillance and the Coast Guard thanked the measure.

The vessels and the aircrafts will allow Costa Rica to improve surveillance in its borders to combat drug trafficking.

Among the most important aspects regarding the donated aircrafts, it can be mentioned that they can fly for six hours straight, they support loads of 2300 kg and six stretchers can fit in, as consequence, they will also serve as air ambulance.
