Police officer was brutally attacked by taxi drivers on strike

A Public Force officer lost five teeth after being brutally attacked by a group of taxi drivers on strike.

Taciano Lemos, Rafael Ángel Calderón Guardia Hospital director, confirmed that the police officer is in a stable condition. His jaw is not broken but he lost several incisors.

The doctor explained that, since it was a work accident, the officer was taken to the National Insurance Institute (INS). Officer’s name hasn’t been revealed.

The accidento ocurred in La Hispanidad, where about 25 taxi drivers were blocking the road. Police officers had to intervene and manifestators got upset.
