Police operations resulted in three arrests

Three people were arrested this weekend as suspects of robbery and attempted assault in the province of Guanacaste.
One of them, a 22-year-old man named Méndez, was arrested in the Curime district of Liberia, after allegedly assaulting a minor to steal a cell phone.

Méndez already had a record for fraud, drug possession and robbery.

The other suspects were two brothers named Gorgona, who were travelling by the district of Quebrada Grande, in Tilarán, when they were arrested at a road control checkpoint.

The officers inspected their vehicle and confiscated a pistol and a revolver.

One of the pistols had no serial number, but it did hold six ammunition. The police also seized a box with 22 caliber 38 ammunition.

The officers also recovered a camera, a tablet and a speaker, after following two suspects who drove a motorcycle. The suspects fled into the mountains leaving the motorcycles behind.

Apparently, one of the motorcycles had been stolen minutes before, so the Public Force returned it to its owner.

In a different police operation, officers seized 13 doses of LSD and several doses of marijuana during a road control in Tilarán.
