8 people were arrested in a police operation

Thanks to 38 report calls, the Narcotics Control Police (PCD) from the Public Security Ministry, dismantled two drugs-trafficking groups that were operating in San Ignacio de Acosta. As a result, 8 suspects were arrested and some drugs, money, weapons and ammunition were confiscated.

In addition, 5 properties were raided, one of them, was used to illegally deal drug.

Some of the suspects have an extensive criminal record: a woman, surnamed Quirós, was arrested. She had a record of indecent assault and aggravated corruption. In addition, a man surnamed Vargas had been arrested three times before for robbery, theft and aggravated theft. There was also a woman surnamed Arias, who had no records.

In a second police operation, 5 local drug-trafficking suspects where arrested. Their last names are Barboza, Ramírez, Cruz and Rodríguez. There was also a minor under 16 years old.

During the first confiscation 15 doses of marijuana were found, as well as 8 doses of cocaine, 4 doses of crack and 116,925 colones in cash. During the second operation, 642 doses of marijuana were found and 140 doses of crack, 12 doses of cocaine and 414,000 colones in cash, as well as a shotgun.
