Strange appearance of Sea Snakes cause terror on Playa Flamingo in Guanacaste (Primero en Noticas)


Residents and visitors are troubled by the appearance of the yellow bellied sea snake on Playa Flamingo. The snake, “Pelamis platura”, measures up to five feet in length and carries an extremely poisonous, Neurotoxin for which there is no anti-venom in Costa Rica. The snake is a new visitor to Costa Rica, and the lack of any previous case means there are no countermeasures.
