Taxi drivers promised a peaceful demonstration

Taxi drivers’ leaders promised the Public Force and the Traffic Police to conduct a “totally peaceful” and “respectful” demonstration on Thursday.

That day, hundreds of taxi drivers will march, from 9 a.m., from Paseo Colón to the headquarters of the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court.

Taxi drivers assured they will take the necessary measures to affect citizens as little as possible. They ask that the pending issues on transport apps are solved in court.

This agreement was made during a meeting that transport leaders held on Tuesday morning with the heads of the security forces and the Transit Police, Juan José Andrade and Mario Calderón, respectively.

Leader Gilbert Urena was grateful for the dialogue, promoted by the Ministry of Public Security and made clear that the demonstration

will be held with order and discipline and respect for all citizens and the authorities.”

For its part, the director of the Public Force, Juan José Andrade, said he was pleased with the agreement reached after the meeting.
