Tourists’ access to Manuel Antonio Park will be limited

The authorities are still working on actions to rehabilitate Manuel Antonio National Park (PNMA). On Tuesday, the Ministry of Health suspended the restrictive access to Playa 3, an area that was closed last week due to the wastewater and solid waste management problems.

But the health services of that sector continue to be disabled .The Ministry of Environment and Energy (MINAE) assured that the entire Park is open to tourists, after fulfilling the health order. Of course, they must still guarantee a definitive and comprehensive solution.

The authorities will limit the visits during the next three months to 1,300 visitors per day to prevent risks.

The National Chamber of Tourism (CANATUR) will five half a million colones for the maintenance and cleaning of the septic tank in Playa 2. The objective is to support the carrying capacity of visitors who cannot use the sanitary services that remain closed.
