10 predictions about the future of investment on information technology

A study from IDC consulting firm makes 10 predictions about what will happen to investment on information technology (IT) in 2017 and in the future. It predicts that investment in this area will reach 274 billion dollars, 3.9% more than in 2016.

According to vice president of IDC Latin America Ricardo Villate, 2017 will be a critical year because it represents a turning point for the next three or four years. It is anticipated that efforts on digital conversion will be projects or isolated initiatives in enterprises.

Each company will become a “digital native” in the way its executives and employees think and operate.

-First prediction: total dependence on digital processes.
-Second prediction 2: By 2020, technologies and services of the 3rd platform will drive almost 40% of spending on Information Technology.
-Third prediction: “Cloud 2.0”. By 2020, 55% of all corporate IT infrastructure and software spending will come from the cloud.
-Fourth prediction: Artificial intelligence will be everywhere.
-Fifth prediction: Immersed Interface will gradually gain ground.
-Sixth prediction: collaborative platforms will emerge for industry (PCI).
-Seventh prediction: the development teams of Digital Transformation will expand even faster.
-Eighth prediction: Digital Transformation (DX) distribution channel will arise.
-Ninth prediction: qualification standards in Digital Transformation will define new leaders.
-Tenth prediction: There is a 4th platform on the horizon.
