102 claims for appliance damage have been filed so far

July 3, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Following the fire that broke out last Wednesday night at the El Porvenir Substation in Desamparados, CNFL’s Directorate of Commercialization staff took care of claims for damages to the electrical appliances of affected households.

As of Monday morning, 102 cases had been filed. Clients had to fill out the form for this purpose and the technical staff visited the homes to carry out the study.

Guillermo Mena, Director of Marketing of the CNFL, indicated that customers who submit bills for repair with amounts lower than ₡150 thousand, will be handed the cash immediately. However, customers with higher amounts will have to go the National Bank or Bank of Costa Rica within five business days to withdraw the money for the repair.

For artifacts that do not have repair and need to be replaced, the amount will be canceled according to the depreciation table stipulated by the Comptroller General of the Republic, maintaining the same terms and forms of payment.

The CNFL staff will only receive the customers that were affected by the incident in the Substation, and they must submit their claim before the eight days stipulated in the regulation.
