June 23, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Nearly 155,000 residents of Santa Ana, Escazú, Alajuelita and Desamparados will be have no drinking water on June 24th, according to the Costa Rican Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (AyA).

The cut is due to preventive maintenance work at the Puente Mulas 1 and 2 pumping stations, which is why it is necessary to interrupt the service.

In Santa Ana and Pozos the cuts will apply in the central sector, while in Escazú the cuts will affect the downtown area, San Antonio and San Rafael.

In Alajuelita the cuts will be in the central sector, San Felipe, Concepción, San Josecito and San Antonio.

Finally, in Desamparados the cuts will apply in San Rafael Abajo and San Juan de Dios.

The service interruption will be from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm.

The AyA recommends saving and using only the necessary amount of water to meet basic needs.
