Lawsuit against Orozco dropped again

May 13, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The women who filed a sexual harassment complaint against former legislator Justo Orozco dropped the lawsuit for the second time.
For this reason, the Juzgado Penal de San José decided to issue a final acquittal for Orozco.

The complainants dropped the case for the first time in February, 2016, after an agreement was reached. However, a few days later, they asked to continue with the process, since they were upset the press found out about the agreement.

This time, the court decided to close the case, and the judge rejected a petition for a second hearing to explain the victims’ decision. Therefore, the accusers appealed the dismissal and another hearing must be held.
