3.700 million colones for homeless people

President of the Republic, Luis Guillermo Solís, announced that the governemtn will invest of 3.700 million colones in order to help abandoned, homeless people. This is part of the Comprenhensive Care National Policy.

The funds will come from the Instituto Mixto de Ayuda Social (IMAS), FODESAF, CONAPAM, IAFA and Social Protection Board (JPS).

The main idea is to create a system of rapid, effective response and an updated record that includes abandoned people in hospitals from the Caja Costarricense del Seguro Social (CCSS).

In addition, spaces for protection, training and social and labor inclusion will be enabled through Centers for Human Development and Social Inclusion.

The president said that human beings must be merciful and that this policy counts on committed institutions. Moreover, local governments and private sectors can contribute with the measure.
