57 families evicted from “Aguantafilo” in Hatillo

Several institutions, including the Municipality of San José, are carrying out an eviction of 57 families living in 25 de Julio Park, known as “Aguantafilo”, and in Reina María, both in Hatillo.

According to the entity, the action is being executed in conjunction with several institutions, coordinated by the National Commission on Evictions.

The idea is to recover more than 5,000 square meters.

The action will require the eviction of 57 families will be addressed immediately by the IMAS, Ministry of Housing and PANI in cases where there are minors in social risk. The operation starts now and will run as far as necessary. Machinery from the Municipality and the MOPT will proceed with the demolition and removal of debris and material, once the place is secured,”

said the municipality in a statement.

The two areas to recover are public spaces.
