A total of 90 prisoners danced in the Liberia Institutional Care Center with neon lights.

These lessons are part of the agenda that the Minister of Justice and Peace, Cecilia Sánchez, instructed the directors of prisons to implement with the prison population.

The idea arises from the Administration. It’s something very different that is only seen in the street. To have brought him [the instructor] to jail was very impressive. The inmates were very tired after the activity,”

said Dinorah Montoya, administrator of the penitentiary.

The prisoners who participated reside in the areas of low containment. The activity showed the fundamental role of this type of activities and the benefits for the population: a better quality of life, happiness, mood improvement, practicing rules of coexistence and group integration.

Since January, this penitentiary has been developing other types of monthly activities, including karaoke contests, visits to Ponderosa Adventure Park and the Liberia stadium.
