Bill aims to fight the lack of specialists at the CCSS

A bill aims to end the shortage of medical specialists from the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS).

The initiative was presented by legislators Luis Vásquez, Danny Hayling, Gerardo Vargas Varela, Abelino Esquivel and Carmen Quesada.

The project intends to establish an expeditious procedure for the recruitment of specialists through an absence declaration in order to solve the shortage of professionals that affects the medical centers of the Fund.

This institution faces an emergency situation at the national level in health due to the shortage of medical specialists to meet policyholders who are waiting for an appointment and who do not receive the required attention, and this threatens Cot Ricans’ life and health,
