18 low-income families will now have electricity

November 7, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Don Abilio Guillén is a senior citizen who has been living without electricity for 38 years, but soon he will be able to keep his food refrigerated at home.

He and his family are one of the 18 neighboring families of Bellavista, Piedades Santa Ana, benefiting from the program “Hogares Seguros y Eficientes”, from the Compañía Nacional de Fuerza y Luz (CNFL), in partnership with private companies such as Sylvania, Durman, Eaton, Eagle and El Eléctrico.

The electrical installation is made with the contribution of private enterprises, and the formalization of electrical customer service is signed by the beneficiary, who agrees to cancel their receipt responsibly.

In this community, donations will be about 4.5 million colones to allow 6 families to have a safe electrical installation and efficient LED lighting technology.

For the remaining households, the collaboration was made through the purchase of the materials for the electrical installation and support from the CNFL technicians.

Part of the objectives of this initiative is to reduce the possibility of direct connections to the network; which in turn affects the increase in the customer base and therefore in corporate finances.
