FIA 2015 failure had a happy resolution

November 15, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The Judiciary confirmed that the Treasury Criminal Court rejected the case regarding the failed organization of the International Festival of Arts (FIA) 2015.

It was dismissed on July 16th, as reported by the press office of the Judiciary.

Former Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Elizabeth Fonseca declared that she was satisfied with the resolution.

I’ve been completely calm because I know the work we did and just because I know that the FIA is difficult to carry out within the existing legal framework, it did not take place,

stated the official.

The failed Festival meant an investment of more than ยข 700 million. However, Fonseca said that this resolution should force institutions related to the FIA to carry out a reorganization process.
