Inhabitants of the Pacific might not have seen the Super Moon

November 15, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The National Meteorological Institute (IMN) forecasted a lot of cloudiness for the night of November 14th, especially in the Pacific, so it is likely that the neighbors of that sector were not able to see the “super moon”.

According to IMN, although it was not cloudy, during the night the layer of high clouds usually reduces visibility. For the Central Valley, between 40 and 60% of clouds were forecasted for at least until 10:00 p.m. From then on it was expected to decrease slightly. Guanacaste remained cloudless.

The people who live in Zapote, Curridabat, Tres Ríos or Cartago may have been able to observe the phenomenon. But it was forecasted it would be unlikely to see the event from Guadalupe and Coronado.

The last time the “super moon” happened was 68 years ago.
