San Juan de Dios Hospital couldn’t hospitalize 93 people due to collapse in the service

According to Ileana Balmaceda, director of the medical center, San Juan de Dios hospital has been collapsed for about 3 years and due to the demand that they had during the past weekend, the normal collapse also collapsed.

It was a situation that exceeded our capacity. At this moment, we have 93 patients who are waiting to be admitted, who have already been assessed and who require hospitalization. We need 93 more beds at the moment,

explained Director Balmaceda.

Among the problems presented by patients, there are asthma, pneumonia, heart problem, appendicitis cases and accidents, among others.

The director is asking to the population not to attend the emergency service if it is not a real emergency and suggested people tred to get a consultation in their corresponding EBAIS.
