Cartago analyzes evidence against prosecutor from Desamparados

November 16, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The prosecution of Cartago collects and analyzes the evidence against prominent prosecutor in Desamparados, named Rodríguez León, suspected of reckless driving and aggravated tax resistance.

The press office of the public prosecutor explained that the case is under preliminary investigation.

The prosecution is waiting for the toxicology results from the Department of Forensic Sciences.

Two days after the events – which took place on October 23th – the Attorney’s Office from Cartago called in the accused for questioning.

On October 25th, a report was sent to the Fiscal Inspection Unit, which referred the case to the Judicial Inspection.

According to Sonia Monge, deputy director of the Traffic Police, the man apparently crashed with another car and then fled.

The officer received a report issued by the vicitm and followed the suspect, who refused to stop several times. When he agreed to stop the car, he did not want to take the breathalyzer test and threw himself to the ground.

As a result of the incident, the transit officer now has wounds in his arms.
