Costa Rican Legislators’ trip to Nicaragua could have cost 14,000 dollars

The three-day tour of 12 Costa Rican legislators to Nicaragua could have cost about $ 14.000, including airfare, lodging and meals.

The expenditures were assumed by the Forum of Presidents of Legislative Powers of Central America and the Caribbean (FOPREL), According to the statements made by executive secretary of that body Santiago Rivas Leclair and President of the Nicaraguan National Assembly Iris Montenegro.

Michael Arce, Danny Hayling, Olivier Jiménez and Araceli Segura from the Liberación Nacional Party (PLN),  were part of the tour, as well as Marvin Atencio, Javier Cambronero, Laura Garro, and Emilia Molina, from Acción Ciudadana Party (PAC).

Jorge Arguedas and José Ramírez, from Frente Amplio, and Carmen Quesada also attended the meeting.

The trip has been criticized by other legislators, the Foreign Ministry and other sectors.
