As part of the works for the extension of Virilla Bridge over the General Cañas highway, from 4 to 6 lanes, this Thursday, December 1st, the bridge will be closed in the Alajuela-San José direction between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
The closure will apply for trucks at the crossing of EPA Belén and for light vehicles and buses from Castella Conservatory.
The authorities of the National Council of Roads emphasized that the traffic in the San Jose-Alajuela direction will be normal.
San José-Caldera Route 27 is one of the alternate routes suggested, as well as the use of the train between Belén, Heredia, Río Segundo and San Joaquín to San José.
