Volaris Costa Rica and Wingo are promising low-cost tickets

December 2, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Low-cost airlines Volaris Costa Rica and Wingo started official operations in Costa Rica on December 1st, expanding the travel options in Central America.

Colombian Wingo will start with direct flights to Panama and Guatemala City.

According to the company, the final cost of the ticket will include taxes, hand luggage and bottled water. The food is not covered, but  the airline will be selling food and drinks on board.

The spokeswoman did not rule out flights to other destinations from Costa Rica in the future.

Since last September Mexican airline Volaris has been flying through the Costa Rican skies. However, now it will do it not only with the Mexican flag but also with the national flag.

Costa Rican flights will start with the San José-Guatemala City flight, and in the next few months more flights will be added more in order to provide greater connectivity within the region.
