Antonio Álvarez Desanti’s presidential candidacy changed the situation at the Legislative Assembly

December 7, 2016 by Staff News Writer

With the start of the special session at the Legislative Assembly, election fever has increased and the government is already feeling its effects.

One of the most important effect is to have “lost” Antonio Álvarez Desanti as mediator with the different parties. The President of the Legislative Assembly announced his candidacy representing Partido de Liberación Nacional and that changed the situation.

Even though the Legislative admitted that the legislator has complied with all his functions in the Congress, they have lost their mediator. This is because Desanti met with the different parties to negotiate agreements and he had some support.

The situation has changed because there are people from different parties who do not want Don Antonio to be successful as mediator and that obviously makes things difficult,

declared Luis Paulino Mora, Vice Minister of the Presidency, in charge of legislative affairs.
