A Chinese company will be in charge of designing the expansion and restoration of Route 32

December 15, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Chec, a Chinese company, will be in charge of designing the expansion and restoration of Route 32.

During this month, Setena granted the environmental viability of this project, which has an estimated value of $ 465 million and will be developed within four years.

This designing phase will last 8 months, when it should be completed and approved.

Manager of the Project Implementation Unit Kenneth Solano said that within two months Chec must deliver the preliminary proposal of expropriations, which will also identify public services to be relocated.

However, he stated that the expropriations are minimal as they are given in the points where exchanges and overpasses will be built.

This project includes the expansion and restoration to 4 lanes from Frío river to Limón, duplication of bridges, construction of pedestrian bridges, bus stops, as well as vertical and horizontal signpostings.
