Train damage led to suspensión of service

January 5, 2017 by Staff News Writer

A power failure and damage to a hose keep INCOFER train in the workshop.

The problem occurred on Tuesday afternoon and caused the suspension of 3 services between Río Segundo de Alajuela and San José and the decrease in the frequency of travels between San Antonio de Belén and San José.

The train is being repaired in the workshop. We try not to affect the service in Heredia, where we transport about 8,000 people, whereas we only transport 3,000 people from Belén. That’s why we took a train from San Antonio de Belén and put it to work in Heredia so that users are not very affected,”

said María Fernanda Arias, a spokesperson from INCOFER.
