Trade unions are against the Bill on Public Employment

January 5, 2017 by Staff News Writer

The government announced that the bill on Public Employment will be read in the Legislature. As a result, unions immediately reacted to the news.

Patria Justa Trade Union Confederation and the SEC think it is a lousy and provocative decision,

declared the union organizations.

The extraordinary session will start on January 9th. According to the unions, it has shown that the fiscal deficit is not the result of public wages. As consequence, they see the call as a provocation that will force them to demonstrate on the streets.

Pro-tempore president Helio Fallas, minister of the Presidency Sergio Alfaro and minister of Finance Fernando Rodríguez met representatives from BUSSCO, Patria Justa and trade union centers. The 3 meetings were held at the Presidential House on January 4th.
