Man made friends with women to extort them

January 5, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Friendship and fidelity were the main weapons used by a man to extort women.

The suspect, 37, was arrested by the Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ) on Tuesday on suspicion of soliciting money to avoid endangering the life of the victims or their families.

This man is related to various cases for the crime of extortion, deprivation of liberty and robbery of women. Apparently, the suspect befriended the offended and later demanded payment of money by threatening their lives and their families,”

said the Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ) in an official statement.

Indeed, the suspect was arrested in San José when -apparently- he was preparing to receive money from one of the victims.

The judicial police asked to report anonymously if there are other victims.
