The Avancemos program, which allows people living in poverty to study, will grow in 2017 and will benefit 30,000 new people.

Those who are going to take seventh, eighth and ninth grade will go from receiving 25 thousand colones to reciving 30 thousand colones, while those who are in the tenth, eleventh and twelfth grade will now get 40 thousand colones.
The Minister of Education, Sonia Marta Mora, stressed that the primary objective of these decisions is to give a second chance to those who have not been able to finish school because of their social situation.
