Minister of Labor resigns to become presidential pre-candidate

January 20, 2017 by Staff News Writer

The rumor was confirmed. On Thursday, the Minister of Labor Carlos Alvarado resigned to become a candidate for the Citizen Action Party.

Alvarado confirmed by a press release that he is leaving the portfolio to face the electoral campaign for the elections of February 2018.

Days ago, he had told the press he could not refer to the issue because it could fall into political belligerence.

In fact, on Wednesday, during the press conference after the Governing Council, the Minister of Labor was consulted on the possibility of fighting for the candidacy in the PAC.

No news, no comment,”

was his reply.
