The air taxi, a new way to avoid La Platina closure

January 20, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Alas Aerotur announced its new service that will operate from January 23rd. It aims to help domestic and foreign tourists so that they arrive on time to their scheduled flights during La Platina closure: the company will introduce the air taxi.

The air taxi will leave from Tobías Bolaños Airport towards Juan Santamaría Airport in Alajuela.

Marta Víquez, Alas Aerotur spokesperson, stated that the company is new and it has developed the air taxi service, but for tourism purposes only.

Because of La Platina issue and the big problems with the traffic jams, going from one side of the city to the airport is very complicated. We saw an opportunity to help people and develop the business,

stated Víquez.

The service will cost $ 49.90 per person. Those interested can make reservations a day before or at least 5 hours in advance.

There are no specific schedules, but the service will serve the customer’s needs. They currently have two airplanes. One can accommodate 3 people plus the pilot, and the other can accommodate 5 people and the pilot.

Reservations can be made through Alas Aerotur Facebook page or by writing an email to alasaerotur@gmail.com.
