AyA employees were kidnapped and their vehicle was set on fire

January 23, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Two employees of Aqueducts and Sewers (AyA) were kidnapped by four individuals who intercepted them to steal a vehicle.

Carlos Hidalgo, a spokesman for the Ministry of Security, said the suspects were traveling in a black pickup and a black motorcycle. After the brief kidnap, the workers were left on the slope of Los Calderones in EscazĂș.

A cement mixer was removed from the vehicle and the rest were set on fire.

Subsequently, the workers were found by the Municipal Police of EscazĂș with some minor injuries. The information provided by this police entity points to vehicles with different characteristics: a red and white bike and a blue truck with the mixer.

The case is now in the hands of the judicial authorities.
