Costa Rican teachers will be able to work in the US

February 7, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Working as a teacher in the United States is an opportunity that many Costa Ricans could use to participate in a multi-cultural training with American students, while developing their careers worldwide.

This possibility is offered by PARTICIPATE education program, formerly called VIF International Education, which recruits bilingual teachers to teach in the North American country.

Educators can count on the benefit of a full-time job with a salary like that of an American teacher, and their same social and labor guarantees.

In addition, recruited educators are provided with free life insurance, international credential assessment, and plane ticket and visa sponsorship for the teacher and his or her family, if necessary.

Teachers who experience cultural and professional exchange with us are active and non-passive participants, they engage in the communities in which they live, they seek to improve the lives of their students and their families, to grow personally and professionally during the experience and then return to their home countries for others to benefit from their experiences and new knowledge,”

says Daniella Musmanni from PARTICIPATE.

To participate, it’s necessary to have a university degree in education, two years of full-time experience as a teacher in a school or college, a driver’s license and driving experience and also demonstrated fluency in English.

The recruitment process is in force for the academic year that begins in August 2017 in the United States. Currently, there are about 30 active Costa Ricans in the program.
