VAMOS Political Party: we have progressive agenda

February 8, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Although most citizens criticize politics, the truth is that the increase of the party offer demonstrates the active participation of many in this matter. For example, VAMOS party offered a progressive focus for the many provincial groupings and their possible legislators in San José.

I’m excited and proud to see how much we’ve grown. We took a fundamental step, because in 2018 we want our delegates and legislators in the assembly to promote a progressive and comprehensive agenda in human rights,”

said the president of the party, Margarita Salas.

The working axes of the party envision human rights, proposals on sustainable cities, progressive drug policy, employment opportunities and the Lay State, and they also have a cultural and economic vision.

VAMOS intends to innovate in citizen participation in decision making. To this end, they have incorporated mechanisms within the internal statute that allow greater participation.

Specifically in the area of human rights, they stated that they were in favor of equal marriage, gender identity and the reproductive rights of women.

The party already approved statutory reforms and it also managed to form internal organs such as the Provincial Executive Committee, the General Prosecutor’s Office, the Internal Electoral Tribunal, the Court of Ethics and Discipline as well as a Court of Appeal. This was the final requirement to register the party in the TSE.
