MEP to visit schools with dual educational plans

February 15, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Iván Mena, Director of Technical Education from the Ministry of Public Education (MEP), will visit the schools that are part of the Dual Education pilot plan.

According to the official, the idea is to talk with parents to motivate them and explain all the details about this process, which is relatively new.

The idea is also to determine the exact number of enrollment, which was initially projected to 60 students for this first year.

Mena says that the parents are very happy with the initiative , “but the problem is that many parents want to participate, and we cannot expand it to the levels they are asking, since it is a pilot plan.”

For about 2 years, the General Directorate of Technical Education, has been promoting the School for parents, aiming to share topics of interest with them.
The schools that will be visited are the Vocational College of Arts and Trades (COVAO) in Cartago, the Professional Technical College Monseñor Sanabria de Desamparados, the Professional Technical College Carlos Manuel Vicente de Golfito, and the Profesional Technical College Jesús Ocaña de Alajuela.
