Kami Holland Association’s goal is to help women with cancer

February 20, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Cancer is an evil that affects the whole family. The thing is that in addition to fighting against it, you have to continue living, the children have to go to school, you have to do homework, you have to do housework, you have to go to medical appointments, treatments and many people have to keep working.

These situations are even more resentful when the mother is ill, given the articulating role played by the woman.

A push is not enough, right?

With the conviction and promise to fully accompany women with cancer, Kami Holland Association was born in the country.

When cancer affects the mother, the home is more stressed because she is usually the family coordinator. Once the illness is reported, the roles, tasks and responsibilities at home abruptly change,

informed the Association.

Because of this, efforts will focus specifically on women with cancer, giving them emotional, physical and spiritual support coordinated by multidisciplinary groups and in a collaborative way that includes their families.

Kamela Holland was an enterprising woman. Her creativity led her to have a successful company and her sales were spread in various stores in the United States.

However, in November 2008, Kami noticed problems with the mobility of his right side of the body and after several medical tests, she was informed that she had a brain tumor. Shee died on September 20th, 2015. She left two daughters.

The Association, that is named after her, will open its doors on March 4th. A welcome seminar will be held by Donna Holland, Kami’s mother.

Donna will give a talk in which she will expose her testimony as someone who experienced the loss of a daughter, victim of brain cancer. The Seminar will be held at the Crowne Plaza Corobicí Hotel, at 9:00 a.m.
