PLN is pushing to avoid setting up a commission to investigate controversial participation

March 3, 2017 by Staff News Writer

The National Liberation Party (PLN) is pushing to avoid setting up a commission to investigate the controversial participation of the Telenoticias and La Nación’s owners and journalists in a trap to remove PLN presidential candidate Johnny Araya from the electoral campaign of 2014.

Although at the meeting of party leaders it was agreed to submit the proposal to a voting process at the Legislative Plenary, the PLN prevented the the issue to be discussed.

Deputy Otto Guevara, head of the Libertarian Movement, declared that the issue was addressed at the meeting between the party leaders and current President of the Legislative Assembly, José Alberto Alfaro.
