The Uber driver won’t leave her job

March 7, 2017 by Staff News Writer

A man surnamed Alvarado, the owner of the car that offers the Uber service, and whose driver was cornered on March 4th in Desamparados, said that the woman had a terrible experience when she was chased by 3 taxi drivers. However, the incident is no reason for her to stop working.

She is a single mother, she has 3 children and she says that she will not leave Uber because of what happened, instead, she is willing to keep working even harder because she has no other income,

stated Alvarado.

The driver has been working with Uber for a month and when the incident occurred, she was going to provide a service from Maxipalí, in San Miguel de Desamparados, to Sector 3 in Los Guido.

They were following her, and since it was a dead-end street, they cornered her… She was scared and informed us of what was happening at that time. She was able to escape, but one of the drivers made several detonations with a weapon, they tried to follow her, but in Maxipalí, there were several Uber drivers waiting for her,

said Alvarado.

According to him, Uber informed that the Legal Department was going to take legal action, but they had to file a complaint with the Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ). He assured that they did so on the same day of the event.

The Public Force received the alert, but when officials arrived at the place, they did not find anything, as they detailed on Saturday. Uber informed that it was going to help the driver.
